Tengo una facinación con el Palm Pre. Es un teléfono que me llama la atención y llega a la venta nada más que 6 meses desde que Sprint y yo acabamos nuestra reación y me moví al iPhone. Ahora falta que el Pre sea el teléfono de mis sueños (tengo mis reservas con el iPhone) y me arrepienta de haber firmado un contrato de 2 años con AT&T.

Anyway, ya se ha anunciado el lanzamiento del Palm Pre en EU para Junio 6 pero se sabe ahora que ya hay Palm Pre’s sueltos por ahí ya que se están empezando a ver impresiones de anuncios del browser del Palm Pre en los reportes de anuncios en algunos ad networks.

La sede del evento será el Centro Criollo de Empresas Emergentes y Tecnología en la urbanización Valle Tolima en Caguas, a minutos de la autopista 52 y de Las Catalinas Mall (mapa aquí). La entrada será gratuita y son bienvenidos estudiantes de todos los niveles, comunicadores y empresarios interesados en esta plataforma de comunicación, el público en general, y por supuesto, todos los blogueros del País.

La actividad comenzará a las 8:00 AM.

Sometimes in Puerto Rico I hear a lot of people complaining about how it is so hard to produce a quality short or movie. I hear about budget issues and distribution issues, etc.

Then I see people like Peter Roe who lives in England and is an avid fan of 3D and CGI, who decided to work on his own project and distribution of a small reel of the little projects he decided to do on his spare time. He is not alone; there’s a lot of people like Peter that have been able to do masterpieces that, although have not made it to the “big screen”, have found large audiences online, where distribution is plenty cheap and easy (and global!).

And I begin to think of how is it that I see these people complaining. Could it be that they are not creative enough to come up with great ideas? Or maybe they have been trained in the old ways of “movie making” where you have to have a big “budget” and a “crew”?

With all this technology and tools freely available to all (like Linux, Blender, Vimeo, etc.), why is it that I can’t find a single Peter Roe in Puerto Rico?

Mi vida ha estado sumamente ocupada en este último año. La creación de Kaput Media no ha sido nada fácil pero ha sido un “ride” super cool y el futuro es ilimitado. Es un “venture” en una industria que está en etapa fetal aquí en Puerto Rico y requiere de muchísima educación y “balls of steel”. El hecho de que Yanisa esté ahora trabajando con nosotros como Partner y Directora Creativa nos da un nuevo empuje y nos ayuda a llevar la agencia a otro nivel.

Estaré cambiando la temática del blog y estaré enfocandome más a en todo lo que tiene que ver con Online Marketing y Web Developmentlas cuales son las áreas de mi interés. También he decidido que ya basta de obligarme a escribir todas mis entradas en español. Siempre he podido escribir más fácil y más fluido en inglés anyway asi que de vez en cuando escribiré en inglés puramente por vagancia. Ah, eso y que Yanisa ya debe estás “jalta” de tener que corregirme todas mis entradas en el blog.

PARIS (MarketWatch) — French oil major Total SA said Tuesday it acquired ExxonMobil Corp.’s marketing assets of gas stations, depots and aviation fuel retailing operations in Puerto Rico, Jamaica and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In a statement, Total said the acquisition represents a marketing capacity of around 1 million metric tons a year through a network of approximatively 200 service stations. Total said the transaction is subject to approval by the relevant authorities and is in line with Total’s development strategy. No financial details were disclosed.

Viendo como están los precios de la gasolina hoy en día, el hacho de que se pierda uno de los competidores en este espacio no es una buena noticia para nadie en Puerto Rico.
